About us

Since its creation, the Adesgam (Asociación de Desarrollo Sierra de Guadarrama) has been striving to get the Sierra de Guadarrama recognized as a quality and sustainable tourist destination.

Adesgam is a public-private organisation established in 2002 that aims to enhance the possibilities of rural areas to develop by relying on local initiatives and using an integrated approach. Adesgam is the managing body of the Sierra de Guadarrama destination, participating since 2012 in the SICTED (Sistema Integral de Calidad Turística Española en Destinos), the largest tourist quality system in Spain, promoted by the Department for Tourism at the Ministry of Tourism and by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP). The SICTED is based on the full awareness of the destination and on the identification of common objectives among the agents involved. 

 Thanks to the joint work, the management team of the SICTED Sierra de Guadarrama was awarded the prize for the best management team in Spain in 2014 and 2018, while the project ” SICTED and Sierra de Guadarrama National Park” got the third prize under the category “betterment projects”. In 2016, the project called “Sierra de Guadarrama for all: tourism and accessibility” was considered the second-best improvement project at the national level.

 ADESGAM supports and promotes the UN’s 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Sierra de Guadarrama in order to achieve sustainable tourism in the area.

 The mountains and valleys are our hallmarks and they are the reason why ADESGAM promotes the decalogue of good use of the mountain published by the Madrid Autonomous Community which fosters a responsible public use of the destination.

 The public and private members of ADESGAM are convinced that in order to achieve ADESGAM´s objectives and to compete jointly the main tools to be used by the 13 municipalities that form Sierra de Guadarrama destination are: training, true public-private collaboration and a cooperative approach.

 The public agents, together with the companies and tourist professionals of the Sierra de Guadarrama work to achieve a virtuous circle where the tourist comes, knows, enjoys, values and protects the Sierra de Guadarrama.
