Cultural heritage

Enventhough Sierra de Guadarrama has a rich and well-known natural heritage and landscape not everyone is familiar with the villages of this region, with their charm and spots waiting to be discovered.

As a result of the long history of human settlement in the region, constructions considered true patrimony jewels are still being preserved: centenary bridges, Roman road, 15th century castle; churches and shrines built in the 16th century, fountains and stone houses… All these complemente traditions that are still alive: crafts (stone-carvers, cattles breeders, etc.) local customs and exquisite cuisine that stocks up on a variety of high quality products like Sierra de Guadarrama Protected Geografical Indication Meat (Indicción Geográfica Protegida Sierra de Guadarrama).
