Location and Access

This viewpoint is located in La Pedriza, within the municipality of Manzanares El Real. To reach it, take the exit at kilometre 25.7 of the M-608 road. Once at the entrance gate to La Pedriza, head towards Canto Cochino and continue for 3.5 km to reach the pass

Scenic View

The viewpoint provides a clear view of the central sector of Cuerda Larga, where you can distinguish the Cabezas de Hierro and Lomas del Pandasco; the upper stretch of the Manzanares River; the Sierra del Francés and La Nava Grande. Within La Pedriza, you can clearly see the division between the Pedriza Posterior (including Las Milaneras, Las Torres, Los Llanillos, and Los Pingajillos) and the Pedriza Anterior, with landmarks such as El Yelmo, Peña el Sirio, and La Tortuga. To the southeast, you’ll spot the Camorza Gorge, carved by the Manzanares River, and the pine forests of the Alto de La Camorza.

Identifiable Landscape Units

From this pass, the visual field allows for the interpretation of the following landscape units: Cuerda Larga, the headwaters of the Manzanares River, and the granite cliffs of La Pedriza, the latter in more detail.

Observations

The viewpoint is accessible by car. It’s advisable to have a detailed map of La Pedriza to identify the most prominent granite formations. Binoculars are also recommended for a closer look at the landscape.
